Alchemy, the ultimate sample-manipulation synthesizer, is the most powerful instrument in Logic Pro X. It comes with an enormous library of over 3000 sounds and a keyword browser to quickly zero in on what you’re looking for. Powerful Performance Controls invite you to explore and play with the sounds you choose. Logic does not allow alternate directories to store plugin files, so all plugins must be in this directory. Many plugins are developed in 32 bit and 64 bit formats. However, some are only compatible with 32 bit programs. Logic Pro can run in both 32 bit and 64 bit modes.

Not sure how easy this'll be to follow so I strongly suggest just looking up a video, but basically when you download the instrument (AU plugin) you're going to get a folder that contains something called a component. The component IS the instrument/plugin. After that, open Logic and then click on the Logic drop down in the toolbar and look around there until you find Audio Unit Manager. Select that and then click Scan For Audio Units or something to that effect. The hardest part is finding out how to open it. The third party plugins aren't placed in the library in Logic, you have to click on the symbol in the top left corner of Logic that looks like an 'i'. Once you do that you might have to minimize the headers in the little side window that pops up until you're able to see a blue bar that says which plugin you're using.
On the right side of that blue bar there should be an arrow, click on that and a drop down window will appear. On the bottom of that drop down is something that says Audio Units or AU or something. Just put your cursor over it and another little window will pop up. That's where you open you're plugins, but they're organized by the developer. For example Massive, Kontact, Reaktor, Maschine, etc. Would all appear under Native Instruments. Hope this helped!!
Sorry for writing a novel instead of a comment:(.
